Call 704-523-3402 to enroll.  A credit card is required at the time of enrollment.

Here is a Step-by-Step tutorial on how to mix and apply Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint.  I am painting a coffee table with a semi-gloss finish, so I will use the Bonding Agent by adding it to the first coat of paint - it will make it stick to shiny surfaces.  No sanding is necessary, no priming is necessary!
Materials: Shutter Gray Milk Paint, Bonding Agent, hot water, craft stir stick, measuring cups, mixing container and a good brush
Start with 1 cup of Milk Paint
Add 1 1/2 cups hot water. Use less water with very light colors.
Mix well for 3-5 minutes, keep mixing until it is smooth.
If you want super smooth paint, you can use a hand held immersion blender. It will mix up very quickly, and will create some foam that you will need to skim off.
Coffee Table BEFORE
Since the coffee table has a semi-gloss finish I will add the Bonding Agent to my first coat of Milk Paint. There is no sanding or priming needed! This will make the paint stick to shiny surfaces!
Second coat of Shutter Gray, no Bonding Agent necessary!
Paint the second coat
Mix Ironstone 1 part powder to 1 part water. No Bonding Agent is necessary. When using a very light color I like the paint to be a bit thicker, so I mix it 1:1.
Paint the detail and the edge with Ironstone using a smaller brush.
Paint Ironstone on the details
I painted the underside with the left over Shutter Gray and Bonding Agent mix
After the piece is dry I will apply a coat of Furniture Wax. This wax smells so good and is all natural - beeswax and carnauba wax
Apply the Furniture Wax with a lint free cotton rag, let it sit for about 5-7 minutes, then buff with a lint free cotton rag.

We painted this hutch we found at the Assistance League of Charlotte's Thrift Store in "Tricycle" (red), Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.  We used the color as a stain on this piece and put a couple coats of Hemp Oil on it!  Stop by our studio to see her!
